I have also been off-line for ages. Got side-tracked with books and twin granchildren!! I am so sorry to have put you wrong. Josiah didn't own land in Omata, it was John Rogers. Josiah owned land in Kaponga. Henry Rogers who seems to be the enigma of the family. I came across a interesting newspaper clipping that was with my father's papers when he died. Don't know the date of the newspaper, but among other things, it mentions William and Samuel and their wives being buried at Bell Block, (their headstones can be seen from the road, which, my brother has travelled along for over 40 years, and didn't even know they were there, until recently!) It also says there is an unmarked grave, that may contain the remains of three of John and Mary's children, or, it may be Henry Rogers'. A 'Rogers' was reported missing after the Battle of Okutuku in 1864, but the first name was not known. Maybe it could be Henry?? :

Hey all of you out there who want to know, I am a decendant of the Rogers settlers in New Plymouth NZ. I have a copy of my family tree and if you want you can contact me, I don't know if I can help but I will try. The names you are talking about appear in my tree. Thanks. Sue

:)I am a descendant of John Rogers ( born and bapt in 1803 , son of Henry Rogers and Mary Pascoe, and grandson of William Rogers and Mary Toyle, who was married to Mary Faull on 13 March,1824 and emigrated to New Plymouth New Zealand in 1842. Both my parents are descended from their children. Interested in extending knowledge on where John Rogers and family may have been working and connecting with other family lines. Just beginning to use internet for research . It was with interest I found the postings on the Rogers families thread started Aug 2010 Carol Bolton
