Well done CT. Why didn't I think of looking there?
So why is there no record of this marriage to found in the Wellington Parish Records I wonder.

Afraid I am still not able to answer the question about the marriage. It was only by accident that I thought of Vivian and I am not really sure what triggered me to think of it. As often happens I will think of one thing that will lead to another and I end up with multiple brain processes working and then out of nowhere comes a thought such as that one. At least much of that information should have been based on contemporary sources so the details particularly in that earliest part of the pedigree should be reliable. We also know that Humphrey Yorke was in Cornwall by 1585 as his marriage is recorded in the Mawgan in Meneage Parish Register. But I do have some reservations about whether it actually took place at Mawgan. Certainly the marriage is recorded BUT the DAY and MONTH were NOT RECORDED! Because Humphrey was in Cornwall by that time does not necessarily mean sister Mary was there at that time but the fact a child was baptised to Francis Harvey at Phillack in 1692 suggests she was certainly there within a few years. It is important to note the corrections in the footnotes on p 269. "Richard" was actually Roger who married Eleanor Luttrell of the Courtenay family connection. He was Serjeant at Law as well as Justice of the Peace for Somerset, Wiltshire and Devon. Roger died when their son Thomas was 15, and Thomas became the ward of Henry Walrond/Waldron of Bradfield in Devon, his future father-in-law. That would have been when he inherited family property in Wellington. Thomas Yorke's marriage took place 25 Nov 1544 Uffcombe, Devonshire, England, with bride listed as Helen Waldron, although she is mostly found as "Eleanor". Thus, I do think it possible children Mary and Humphrey were born in Devon. Those are the only children I've found referenced anywhere, but there is a baptism record on Ancestry for Barbara York 9 Feb 1545 at Uffculme, Devon, England. The image was not available, so I can't see parent information. Devon Anglican Parish Registers/ Taunton, Somerset, England: Indexes created from Anglican Parish Registers held at South West Heritage Trust. Here's a link that has an interesting discussopm of the lands and parties involved in Thomas' inheritance in the Biography section. Thomas YorkeI am working on pinpointing the dates and locations for the deaths of Thomas and Eleanor, because that would be helpful to know. Zib

Zib,
Do you mean that the image is not available online or that it no longer exists? I shall be visiting Taunton in the spring and could pop in to the South West Heritage Trust and do a bit of digging.

Columb, What I accessed is an index only. Barbara's record popped up when I was working on her sister-in-law Barbara Vivian. It looks like there were other siblings. Not guaranteeing the accuracy of the tree, but I might check them out since the index doesn't pull from parents' names. Zib Source citation re: Barbara Yorke Children of Thomas Yorke
