Things have sort of been progressing today until I hit a rather large brick wall. Anyway, the John (a grocer) and Elizabeth in Penzance in 1841 moved to Illogan for the 1851 census. That told me that John was from Perranzabuloe and Elizabeth from Devonport. The girls that I could find still unmarried, or married for that matter, were all giving Hayle as their birth place. As you are probably aware there are no online baptisms for Perranzabuloe due to their very poor condition so I have asked the OPC for a look up.
However as for Annie, Eliza, and Susan from Hayle - I cannot find their baptism details either. As for John and Elizabeth - ma and pa - they would have been married after 1800 and before 1808 I have calculated. John was born around 1781/2.
The West Indies information came from "I do not know where" but at the moment there is no need to question it as the two Johns are different.
George Boase Glasson and Ann Husband are still a likely source of parentage for our other Susan Glasson, bap 1826 though. I did note that in the 1841 census Susan was living in the house of a Wesleyan minister at Chapel Place. Also living in the house was a certain Mr Burt - actually he might have been the minister.
There was another certain Mr William Burt Glasson who married Elizabeth Hill in 1826 in Madron - and this man's family came from Kenwyn - his mother being Joan Burt and his father Robert Glasson.
Coincidence?
