Hello Ian
Possibly him that died in 1855 - be interseting to see the details of the death. An unusual name for the Quicks and he does not appear in any census that I can see, although at least one of his nephews was named after him.

I really must pay more attention! I have Israel Quick and Sally/Sarah (as mentioned earlier on in this thread) in my tree. Although not direct ancestors I really should have realised this before Their son Alfred Quick married Hannah Berryman, whose daughter Catherine Quick married Simon Noall, son of Andrew Noall and Clarinda Richards. Time to re-read this thread more carefully!!

And, of course, Simon's sister Catherine Berryman Noall married James Ninnes Quick in 1871. ;D Appreciate details of the marriage to Clarinda Richards if I may as I do not have it and did not, until now, know her maiden name. Cooking with gas now - got Quicks on the Noall thread and now Noalls on the Quick thread.

She sure did, although I didn't have James Quick's middle name of "Ninnes", so cheers for that Andrew Noall married Clarinda Richards on 2 July 1832 in St Ives Argh, Quicks everywhere!

You should see this from my end. Thanks for that marriage info. And yet another Clarinda Richards - that appears to give me six of them so far including Clarinda TREWHELLA Richards born at St Ives about 1856. (In her case it may be because her grandmother hadbeen Clarinda Thomas before she married Martin Trewhella.) I am very close now (I think) to preparing my other two Quick Problems. But it appears I may have discovered another little spanner in the works. Robert s/o the mysterious James and Jane married Martha Pearce at Lelant 10th April 1844. (His second marriage.) In the West Briton information I found the following:- 10 May 1844, Friday At St Ives, on the 2nd Instant, MR. ROBERT QUICK, joiner, to MISS MARTHA PENBERTHY That record does not appear in the Online Transcript of St Ives Marriages. Most Perplexing. James was born about 1846 at St Ives s/o James and Mary (nee Ninnis) Quick. James, in turn, was son of Benedict and Kitty (Richards) Quick of whom I think we now know a little. NOW (don't you hate it when I start with that ) - on the subject of Quicks I have another little problem that you may be able to help with. But to save confusion I will post the details on another note. Ian

Just to clear up the problem of Robert Quick. Robert Quick married Martha PEARCE 30th April 1844 at Lelant So it would appear the West Briton has the date wrong as well as the surname of the bride! CT

This message needed to be brought to the fore given the latest discussions about Joseph Quick. But while searching for more information on Joseph I can across John Quick of Falmouth in the 1871 Census and he is also mixed up in this thread. So I need to work out just how John Quick of Falmouth is an Uncle to Thomas Kitchen. CT
