I've just finished researching Elizabeth Casley m Thomas Trembath & concluded that Elizabeth is Elizabeth Bone Casley d of Noah & Elizabeth Bone bap30 Oct 1797. My findings & reasonings cover a two-page doc. which I've offered to send to coolgarra via a PM.
Allan.
I've not heard from coolgarra so I'm posting my findings, which are as follows:-
Parents of Elizabeth Casley bap 06 Jan 1799
The marriage certificate for Thomas Trembath & Elizabeth Casley doesn’t give the names of the parents.
One witness was Honour Williams. An Honour Williams married a James Casley on 04 Mar 1804 so it can’t have been her but it may have been a relative of hers. There are six Honor Williams baptised in St Just between 1782 & 1816.
The 1861 census shows Elizabeth Trembath aged 66, making her year of birth c1795, the widowed sister of the head Thomas Casley aged 55, making his year of birth c1806.
My tree shows Elizabeth’s parents to be Richard Casley & Margaret Warren but they don’t have a son Thomas b c1806.
I’ve searched the Baptisms Register & found only two Thomas’s which would fit in with the 1861 census, namely:-
1. 12 May 1805 Thomas s of Noah & Elizabeth.
Noah Casley m Elizabeth Bone on 06 Feb 1796. I’ve found five children in the Baptisms Register with parents Noah Casley & Elizabeth. They are Elizabeth Bone 30 Oct 1797, Mary Bone 03 Nov 1799, Noah 31 Oct 1803, Thomas 12 May 1805, & Ann 02 Nov 1807. From the evidence in the censuses, this points to Elizabeth Bone Casley 1797 being the wife of Thomas Trembath, & not Elizabeth Casley bap 06 Jan 1799.
In the 1841 census, & bearing in mind that the ages for adults were rounded down to the nearest number divisible by 5, the Thomas Trembath/Elizabeth Bone Casley family would show:-
All born in Cornwall
Thomas 45 yob 1792-1796
Elizabeth 40 yob 1797-1801
Elizabeth 15 yob 1822-1826
Thomas 15 yob 1822-1826
John 12 yob 1828-1829
William 8 yob 1832-1833
Richard 5 yob 1835-1836
No mention of Mary Anne Trembath bap 08 May 1831. However, a Mary Trembath aged 6 was buried on 16 Oct 1836 in St Just, residence Bosavern.
In the 1851 census:-
Living at Bojewyan Stenock [?], St Just.

William 22 yob 1828-1829 b St Just
Thomas 19 yob 1831-1832 b St Just. ANOTHER SON. WHERE DID HE COME FROM? CAN’T FIND A SUITABLE BAPTISM.
IS THIS THE RIGHT ELIZABETH? CAN’T FIND ANOTHER SUITABLE ELIZABETH IN THE CENSUS.
In the 1861 census:-

John head unm 36 yob 1824-1825 b St Just

Elizabeth head widow 79 yob 1791-1792 b St Just.
Living on her own. Bit old for our Elizabeth, who may already have died – see burial below.
Can’t find Elizabeth in the 1881 census. May have died earlier.
Burial of Elizabeth Trembath.
12 Jan 1871 residence Carrallack, St Just 76 yob 1794-1795. Probably our Elizabeth.
20 Dec 1878 residence Church Town, St Just 97 yob 1780-1781. Too old for our Elizabeth.
03 Oct 1881 residence Crowlas, Ludgvan 84 yob 1796-1797. Found this Elizabeth in the 1881 census. She was a widow & a boarder with the Morris family in Ludgvan.
Found othe burials but age at death did not fit our Elizabeth.
2. 30 Sep 1805 Thomas son of Thomas & Margaret.
Thomas Casley m Margaret Hockin on 12 Jan 1794. They had seven children.
Son Thomas Casley was baptised on 30 Sep 1805. He died aged 16 & was buried on 22 Dec 1821.
This cannot be the Thomas brother of Elizabeth, who whe was living with in 1861.
Comments would be appreciated - I think
Allan.
