Okay - I will work through each generation and add notes/corrections where necessary.
I don't know where Benedict died except that it was Victoria in 1880. I see that at least one online search result shows that he died at Durham Lead but I have not seen any death or burial information for him other than the Victorian Pioneers Index which does not specify the place of death.
How did you come up with William Richards and Elizabeth Knight as parents of Kitty??
I have to presume it is something else from Ancestry or the LDS which again proves how unreliable those sources can be.
William Richards and Elizabeth Knight were married at Little Petherick in 1799 and you will find Little Petherick right up by Padstow on the North Coast! And you will also find that this marriage was just a little too late!
Catherine (Kitty) Richards was baptised at St Ives 2nd February 1795 to William Richards and Sarah Nance who were married at St Ives 4th August 1786. Kitty was buried at St Ives 24th December 1848.
Benedict died on February 18th and was buried February 23rd 1855 at the age of 82.
Jane Stevens was baptised at St Ives 17th January 1770 daughter of Vivian Stevens and Margaret Tregerthen who married at St Ives 29th Jun 1760. She was buried at St Ives 20th September 1851 age 82.
Yes
Benedict was baptised 1st January 1711 St Ives and was buried 21st August 1765 at St Ives. No marriage has been found but baptism entries for his children tell us that his wife was Mary. Nothing more is currently known about her.
Any birth/baptism information for Benedict is purely guess-work but the presumption is that he was probably born at Towednack. Benedict was buried at St Ives 30th March 1716.
Prudence Varryan is almost certainly the daughter of Bennett and Prudence (nee Michell) Varyan who were married at St Ives 3rd August 1667. Prudence daughter of Bennett and Prudence was baptised at St Ives 20th May 1678.
One of the few early baptisms that can be found! Anthony was baptised at Zennor 5th October 1634 and was buried at Towednack 4th October 1698.
Elizabeth was named in the Will of her father William Randall who in that same Will named his wife as Wilmite.
Once again any dates associated with Thomas Quick are pure guess-work. We know he was still alive in 1641 as he signed the Protestation Regurns and he appears to have died before 1662/4 as Zenobia appears in the Hearth Tax on her own.
We have no marriage information for Thomas and baptisms for only two of his children with one of those being open to interpretation. The baptism of son Anthony (quoted above) is the only one that can be verified. There is a baptism record for daughter Phillipa in the Bishops Transcripts but the page it is on is missing the information that tells us which year it occurred.
Early information I received about the baptism of Phillipa was derived from the BTs but it was suggested the year was probably 1619. However after having seen those BTs for myself I can say that 1619 is not correct.
On this same page of BTs there are also marriages of which some can be cross-referenced with sections of the Parish Register that are still legible. I believe Phillip was actually baptised a couple of years later about 1622 or 1623. Phillipa was mentioned in the Will of Phillipa Bishop of St Ives in August 1640 and she married Israel Michell at Zennor 8th November 1640 so it is unlikely she was born after 1623.
Although it cannot be certain it can be deduced that Phillipa may have been the eldest child of Thomas Quick. None of his sons appear in the Protestation returns so they were probably all born after 1623.
If we accept Phillipa as the eldest child then it might be reasonable to guess that Thomas Quick married about 1622 but again I need to stress that this would be guess-work.
One further point to be made here is about the name of Thomas Quick's wife. Some 'sources' show here as Cynobys Synobal or something similar but in fact there is absolutely nothing to indicate a surname!
At the baptism of Philippa she was recorded as 'Cynobys' and when Anthony was baptised his mother was recorded in the BTs as 'Sinoby'. Her name was actually 'Zenobia' with 'Cynobys', 'Synobal' etc. merely being variations of the same name. I repeat that NO SURNAME is know for Zenobia.
I will post some information about Sir John Quick in a following post.
Hope that helps.
