Hi Dew It is confusing as you say, I do not have anything regarding lavinia I have the children starting with Elizabeth born 1840 (children all born in Breage) Ann 1842 Rosena 1843 she also appeared 1871 census Millom Cumberland, she emigrated on 18 Mar1876 to New York, she appeared 1880 Benton, Mono, California USA Mary 1845 Jane 1848 my g'g'grandmother Eliza 1851 William 1855 I don't have any info on lavinia perhaps she died young, I have the birth dates for Jane , Eliza ,and Mary. I think you have found my Alice's marriage I am most pleased with that. I hope this info has been helpful to you, as I said my search has not been very fruitful and I had almost given up the search but I'm glad I didn't,I am still smiling from your efforts Regards lucaduca

Lavinia does not appear in any Census and there is no death record in FreeBMD that I can find.
For this reason I suspect that she is either Ann or Rosina.
Also - John and Alice Gundry appear in the 1841 Census at Crowan with two children - John age 2 and Henry age 2 months.
I have not been able to find them in subsequent Census years so I would suspect they also may have emigrated - possibly to the US.

Well Hello Chris! And Welcome to Penwith Genealogy. From your list of names of interest I am thinking we might be having some discussions very soon. ;D As you will see from other notes I am in the process of reviewing all the Trewhella entries in the GRO Indexes and attempting to get all my data up to date and ensure it is correct. You mention the name LOCK. Could this perhaps be a reference to the marriage of Douglas H H LOCK and Caroline Evelina TREWHELLA at Neath in 1915? If so then we certainly need to have some serious discussion and you may be able to help confirm some of the information I have found in recent months. I will welcome any discussion at all about the Trewhella families but there are entries such as the above that are of particular interest. CT

Hi Chris
Towards the bottom of the Home Page you will see a heading for 'Surnames of General Interest' and under that you will find a forum specifically for TREWHELLA.
I suggest we discuss everything there.
