And what do we have?
- Paul QUICK (probably widowed) emigrating to New Zealand with the families of his two daughters! ;D
So Paul QUICK age 48 in 1862 is actually Paul QUICK born St Agnes about 1807.
How does that sit with you?
CT
PS - there is one item here that is a little 'out of whack' - apart from his age.
When he travelled to NZ he was a carpenter yet in 1841 and 1851 he was a miner. (Specifically copper miner in 1851)
A little more while I am at it.
Paul's wife was still alive at the time of the 1861 Census.
1861 Census - Illogan
Illogan Downs
Charles EVANS, head of family, mar., 23, miner, Constantine
Mary Jane do., wife, mar., 23, St Agnes
Maria Jane do., daur, 1, Illogan
Next door is John and Sarah NETTLE
Paull QUICK, head, mar., 53, miner, St Agnes
Mary do., wife, mar., 62, Perran Zabuloe
Maria Ann DALLEY, daur, mar., 20, house keeper, St Agnes
There is only one Mary QUICK recorded as dying in Cornwall from the beginning 1861 to the end of 1863:-
Redruth R.D. 1862 March Qtr Vol 5c Page 196
Mary QUICK
That would fit quite neatly with the other recent information.
And I think that solves the mystery of Paul QUICK buried at Avonside.
Still not sure about 'age 48' and occupation 'carpenter' but everything else points to the problem having been solved.
