Having had a quiet New Year (already 09 here in eastern Australia), let me wish a Happy New Year to all those posters in places further west that are still partying. Have a good one and don't misbehave too much ;D

Hello there
I am in Ahrweiler in the Rhineland in Germany. When I went for a walk this morning it was minus 4.5 degrees - and the sun was shining!! It will be New Year in about 7 hours or so and we will be heading up onto the vineyards on the side of the valley to watch the fireworks, can only imagine what the temperature will be.
Then in the next couple of days off to Garmesch Partenkircken where I understand that it is minus ten or so degrees today but apparently there is still no snow.
I wish you all a happy New Year and I look forward to working with you again in 2009.
Lannanta

Surely only a Kiwi could be that masochistic! ;D But then I hear they can drink 'nearly' as good as we Aussies so there are ways to keep warm. Hope you are having a great time and look forward to your return to the fray. And to Everyone I add my best wishes for a Happy and prosperous New Year - and lot's of problems solved!
