From the Jackson's Oxford Journal (Oxford, England), Saturday, September 27, 1806
Tuesday was married at St. Hilary, Cornwall, Mark Smith, a soldier to Elizabeth HARRIS, of that Parish; having saved the sum of one guinea, and obtained a furlough, he, in eleven days, marched nearly 400 miles, and had the pleasure of presenting between two and three shillings, remaining of the above sum, to the object of his affection.
