Here is all the information I have from the Will of Thomas QUICK:-
THOMAS QUICK, yeoman, of Zennor
written: 10 Feb 1790
proved: 1 May 1799
son: WILLIAM
eldest daughter: ELIZABETH w/o WILLIAM LAWRY of Morval
2nd daughter: MARY w/o WILLIAM THOMAS of Treen, Zennor
3rd daughter: ANN w/o ARTHUR BERRYMAN JR. of Zennor
each of my grandchildren
wife: ELIZABETH executrix
Vol. 22, p. 289
There are two things that seem a little suspect here and my reasons for thinking so will become obvious below.
1. According to the above the Will was written 10th February 1790 but I wonder if that may be an error.
2. Elizabeth is named as 'wife of William LAWRY'
If the Will was written in 1790 then this cannot be the case which leads to the possibility that at least one alteration was made.
BUT if the Will was written in
1798 then all becomes clear.
It would be easy enough to mistake an 8 for a 0 in a document such as this!
My first major problem involves information I received from my cousin a number of years ago and I will need to contact her and offer my new thoughts prior to confirming absolutely the conclusions at which I have arrived.
Here, basically, is the initial information:-
Elizabeth BOASE bp. 5th February 1756 Penzance d/o Jacob and Elizabeth
m1. Francis MATTHEWS 2nd January 1781 at Madron
(Francis and Elizabeth were both 'of Penzance'.)
Four children before Francis is supposed to have died. (No burial yet found)
m2. John HARRY 8th May 1790 at Madron
(John and Elizabeth were both 'of Morvah' and Elizabeth was a widow)
Two sons, Thomas and John, from this marriage.
John HARRY bp. 3rd May 1761 Morvah s/o John and Alice
(Alice was daughter of Hannibal and Alice (nee TREWHEELA) HARRY)
John HARRY was buried at Morvah 21st May 1792 age 32
(I think his sister Jane (m1. Thomas ROWE) became the second wife of Henry QUICK the poet)
m3. William LAWRY 22nd October 1796 Morvah
(William and Elizabeth both 'of Morvah')
Two children from this marriage.

I suspect that my cousin and others with connections to the BOASE and HARRY families 'might' have picked up on some incorrect information - I will know that after I have been in contact with her.
To avoid losing this and also to try and avoid some confusion by making the note too long I will break now and continue with Part 2 in my next.
