Many legal notices had to be placed in this paper, Bankruptcy (I found a few Carbis), applications for Debtors Discharge, Bills to be passed, Legal and Professional Appointments among many other things.
Use the Advanced Search for the Archive and select any date from 1 January 1665 onwards until whatever date you wish (or block of dates in between). For search term, use either a place (if it is St Just or St Ives or any other St. use the word Saint and not the abbreviation) or a name.
For example in the issue dated 24 February 1844, page 47 under the heading "At The Courthouse at Bodmin , in the County of Cornwall...." there appears the following entries (bankruptcies)
George Edwards TREZISE, late of Saint Just in Penwith, Cornwall out of business, previously of same place, and formerly of same place, Tallow Chandler, Grocer, and Draper.
Richard LANDREY, late of Saint Ive, Cornwall, out of business, previously of Liskard, Cornwall, Innkeeper, and formerly Farmer.
Waldron ANDREW (not sure if the name has been inverted here?), late of Lelant, Cornwall, Commission Agent, then of Truro, Cornwall, then of Point, near Truro, then of Marazion, Cornwall, and formerly of Penzance, Cornwall, General Dealer, and Commission Agent.
John POLLARD, late of Paul, Cornwall, Farmer.
Also find items of historical interest too..... In the issue dated 22 November 1836, starting page 38 is the announcement of the intention of the bringing in of the Bills for the Making and Maintaining of the Truro, Redruth and Penzance Railway. It goes on to explain the route it would take.
