Thanks all. Automatically assumed there must be something awry regarding William's death. Mike, I had a look at the relevant newspapers for you in the Cornwall Centre regarding Richard Warren's death on 5 June 1847. I am afraid I could find nothing relating to this incident There only seemed to be two newspapers which would have covered the St Just Region, the Penzance Gazette & West Cornwall Advertiser, and the West Briton. I checked the Penzance Gazette from 26 May 1847 up to the middle of July. Unfortunately the edition covering the first week of June 1847 was missing! Typical! Will check whether the St Ives Archive Centre hold a copy of it. Did not find any mention of the incident. I also checked the West Briton, and again nothing. There wasn't even a mention in the Births, Marriages & Deaths section. Sorry I haven't got any better news to report. Was hoping the incident would be mentioned under coroners' inquests but nothing. If you know of any other newspapers which I could check for you, just let me know
