I have been working away on a note that I found where a certain James Quick and his sister Jane (who married Robert Bennatts in 1812 in St Ives) were party to an agreement to lease the property at Borallan in St Ives that James Quick had been settled on for some time. Indeed in the 1841 and 1851 census James Quick and wife Jane are found living at Borallan and just around the corner at Ayr is Jane Bennatts.
Previously the lease was held by Israel Quick by an indenture of lease dated 29th September 1807.
If I am correct this Israel is the father of James and Jane and therefore the husband of Mary Stevens and who was buried at St Ives on the 11th April 1821.
If somebody has access to the burial register could they possible see if Israel's place of death was listed?

Would you agree that the James and Jane Quick farming at Borallan in the 1841 to 1861 census were - James, son of Israel Quick and Mary Stevens - and Jane nee Rosewall daughter of William Rosewall and Margaret Stevens?

MOst certainly Lannanta - Israel was the son of James and Mary (nee CURNOW) of Borallan. One thing I did not have in my database was the marriage of Jane and Robert BENNETTS. Or should I say that I had the marriage in the database but did not have Jane linked to any parents. A question - Robert and Jane BENNETTS named first daughter Ann Quick BENNETTS in 1813 and than named another daughter Nancy Quick BENNETTS in 1831. It would sime very likely that these girls were named for Jane's sister? If so then I should think we would find a burial for Ann QUICK sometime around 1812 or 1813. (Problem is that the closest would be about 1807.) But - if she had married ...... well, appears that was not at St Ives if she did. Any other thoughts on why first child of Robert BENNETTS might be named Ann Quick BENNETTS? As for the PR entry regarding the burial of Israel - sorry but I can't help on that. Nothing I can find in any of my records that might help us. So - agreed on all points.
