Well G'day fellow Aussie! I have Nicholas Uren and Joan (Harvey) in my database with a list of six children. To date I have not tried to pursue the family but had them included as I was trying to sort out all the families in the Sennen and St Levan Parish Registers. Hence I do not know the origins of either Nicholas or Joan. However, you state that Nicholas was born/baptised in 1737 which may help me to help you out. If you have not already done so - please post further information in the relevant thread and I will do my best to work on this for you. At this stage I should think 'Sennen' would be the place to start. Ian

Hello. I have a Charles Uren who married Mary Ann Mitchell in 1890 and 'emigrated' to Cumberland (Millom). All the Mitchell clan came from the St Buryan/ Sennen area.

Tony - further details of this marriage (and other relevant data you may have) would be appreciated. Where did the marriage take place and what are the details of the event would be a good starting point. I will then have a more solid starting point to try and help you. Ian

Hi Ian,
My message on this Uren board was mainly for lawpit's interest. My Uren is Charles Uren who married Mary Ann Mitchell on 19 Nov 1890. Not sure where but it was in the Penwith area. They 'emigrated' to Millom and had at least one child Charles who married Mary (no maiden name to hand) and they had one child Ronnie. I believe that Charles Mary and Ronnie lived in Blackburn (or then again it could have been Burnley) in the 1930/40's. It is possible that Charles was a fairly high ranking policeman
Charles (ii) was in the 1914/18 war possibly (that word again) in the R.A. My info is rather sketchy as I haven't tried to follow up this line. Mary Ann Mitchell was my father's cousin and the info I have is all hearsay, apart from a couple of aged phtographs.

Tony - anything you can add might be helpful and if you can identify people in the photos I would, if convenient, be happy to have copies if you are able to attach them to an email.
But let us take one step at a time and see what happens.
