I am researching my families from Zennor, Cornwall that moved across the sea to Pennsylvania for the anthracite coal fields in 1860-70. I have a copy of a 1861 census that had the two families living in the same area called Boswednack. They are the Davey family and the Richards family. Thomas had left for America between 1851 and 1861 as he and an older brother William are listed on the 1851 census but not the 61. The head of the Davey family was John who had a daughter named Margaretta who married John Richards. John had three brothers who came here as well, Thomas, Robert and David. For some time the family also ran a farm after getting established. Any help will be greatly appreciated! James

James - already replied to your note in the Welcome Section and it looks like I may have already identified the right family. Will still do some more work on it to make sure and then we can 'rock and roll' from there.

Jim - would be handy if you could elaborate a little further on the family prior to Gwennap. When and where were they would be a good start so I have something a little more to work with and not have to search through multitudes of information unnecessarily. In fact, as much as you can supply about your 'problem' areas would be of help along with at least some information about the transitory links between Gwennap and previous abodes.
