Hmmmm -
So Andrew mentions wife Margaret and sons Thomas, William, Andrew and John.
No mention of any daughters which seems to put Ann out on a limb.
Daughter Margaret had died in 1729/30 so she is out of the equation anyway.
But where does that leave us with the other Andrew I wonder.
Before delv in into this problem any further I do have one comment.
An interesting and, perhaps, important phrase as 'most' times I have seen a wife described thus it meant that she was not the first wife of the Testator.
Have just had another check through IGI and have moved Ann back to the family of Ann and Mary.
Also did another check to see if I could find any record of Andrew and William as sons of Andrew and Margaret but found nothing.
I am wondering if the marriage and possibly baptisms of Andrew and William might have occurred at Towednack where we know there are problems with PRs between about 1712 and 1720.
Of course we need to ascertain some sort of order amongst the children in this family in order to determine possible birth dates.
IGI has the baptisms of John, Thomas and Margaret to Andrew and Margaret so combining this data with the Will it sems obvious that Thomas and William are the younger sons.
The problem is whether it was Thomas or William who was the youngest. Both received equal amounts from the Will but Thomas was named first.
If Thomas were the youngest then there is every chance that William was baptised in a Parish such as Towednack but if it were William who was the youngest then we should be able to find him.
On that basis I will place Thomas as the youngest son until further evidence is found.
It is similarly difficult to know which was the elder between Andrew and John but the last paragraph regarding the payment of money by John to Andrew is a possible indication that Andrew was the eldest so that is the order I will place them.
And, of course, you are going to ask me where this Andrew and the husband of Mary Osborn belong - aren't you.
Up until this point I have believed this Andrew (husband of Margaret) to have been the son of Anthony and Elizabeth (Randall) Quick.
The husband of Mary Osborn I think was the son of Matthew and Sarah (Major) Quick.
I am reasonably happy with the latter but this first Andrew being son of Anthony probably needs looking at.
Problem is that there are no other Andrew Quicks about during that period so it becomes a case of 'it must have been him'!
I am going to have to ponder over this for a while.
Now, you have produced details for two burials at Lelant so I must ask if you have more. (Not only for Quicks but for any family.)
Would appreciate details of all you have to add to my collection so that I have some more information to hand when I need it.
Will leave this one for the time being and have a think about the problem.
