Have had a look around but cannot find a burial for Jane (wid. Pascoe) as yet.
I am also a little intrigued by the fact that Johnson was 'of Gwythian' when he married her in 1754.
However, there was a John and Catherine Rule having children at Gwithian around this time - was this a son of Johnson?
I would also like to find out a little more about Jane also, especially when she first married and when her first husband was buried.
This information would be extremely helpful in confirming any thoughts about Johnson.
Problem is that I need access to Wendron records and all I have been able to get hold of so far are the Burials from 1800 onwards which are absolutely no use in this particular case.
Nevertheless - we press on.
Have had a brief look at your web-site and a glance through the Bray and Rule chart but it is something that is going to require time and clearheadedness. (The latter I am particularly short of at the moment!
)
I will keep an eye on your queries and continue to try and find some answers for you, some of which may ultimately help myself.
The reason I say this is that I have a Mary BRAY who married a Mathew TREWHEELA at Camborne in 1746.
Mathew is very likely connected to my own family but I am still searching a confirmatory link.
He was buried as a 'pauper' at Camborne in 1789 and Mary a year earlier.
Before going on to check some other queries on the Board I might just have a quick look and see if I might identify a possible baptism for Mary.
It looks like she may be:-
Mary BRAYE [Bray] d/o John bp. 27th April 1719 at Camborne
And it looks like her parents were probably:-
John BRAY m. Rebeka BRAYE 26th February 1716 at Camborne
Is this any connection to your own line by any chance?
Rebecca was buried at Camborne as a 'widow' 14th August 1757 which means that John is probably the John Bray buried at Camborne 15th November 1738, there being no other John buried in the years to 1757.
John bp. 26th May 1689 s/o John
Rebecca bp. 2nd October 1687 d/o William
William Bray m. Elizabeth Tellum 18th November 1682 at Camborne
No sign of a marriage for John Bray.
Another thing I will try and pursue further a little later on.
Well - I had best get to these other queries now as it is almost 6a.m.
