I have learnt that Wilmot Quick (nee Curnow, wife of Paul) had a son James.
James (the younger of the two mentioned here) married Mary Quick (nee Quick) of St Ives, daughter of James (the elder) and Mary (nee Curnow).
Would anybody be able to enlighten me as to which family James (the elder) was descended from?
Kind regards
Allen

G'day Allen - always with the hard questions. Firstly, James s/o Paul Quick and Wilmot (nee Curnow) appears to have married twice, although I am yet to find the burial fir his first wife. His second wife was Martha Stevens whom he married at Zennor 5th August 1771. But your main question concerns the ancestry of Mary Quick's father James (the elder). AND you have picked a really good family to be chasing. James Quick married Mary Curnow 5th December 1732 at Towednack and was buried at St Ives 20th November 1765. (I have a copy of his Will here somewhere.) James was baptised at Towednack 26th December 1701 s/o Paul Quick and Jane (nee Quick). ;D Paul Quick was s/o Francis Quick and Elizabeth (nee Paule). Jane Quick was d/o James Quick and Jane (nee Knight). Hope that helps for now and I will try and pursue it more as I can. Please post any further questions and it may make things a little easier whilst I am still setting up things in my new abode. Ian

Roy - I had a similar message from Mark Trengrove. Mark was asking if my email address had changed and said he had a message saying my email was banned. I sent myself a 'test message' which came back with no problems. I have checked everything I can think of here as far as 'message blocking' and can see no reason why there should be a problem. BUT WAIT - just realised that I installed a new Firewall recently and the problem may be there. Checked that and there seems to be nothing untoward. Also - Mark first tried whilst I was offline and his email 'bounced' so the computer was completely out of action then. His next attempt was today (after I got back online) and he had the same problem. It seems coincidental that you are both trying to send email with attachments. When I gained access again I had nearly 200 emails waiting and the last one with an attachment was dated November 27th and it got through ok. I checked all email today and then had about another six waiting when I got hom from work - but the last with an attachment was the one mentioned above. Checking ZoneAlarm and the only problem I can find is with the MailSafe setting. I have turned it off temporarily so you might want to try again. Next thing will be sleep and then think about the problem tomorrow. Ian

Hi Ian, Tried again today, 3 times. All with the same result. Let me know when you are ready for another try. Meanwhile I shall start fattening the pigeon, just in case. Roy ;D

Ian, Did you get the picture I sent? It hasn't bounced back so I assumed it was OK.

'londoner' - not sure about that. Could you please remind me when it was sent and I will try and check but there was nothing in the 200 messages I got yesterday. Roy - Mark Trengove sent me a 'test message' yesterday that arrived with no problem but, of course, there was no attachment. I was wondering if the positioning of my satellite antenna might have something to do with things as it is currently sitting on a table outside awaiting proper mounting. But Mark's first failed attempt happened whilst I was completely offline so that would not appear to be the problem. And I had installed ZoneAlarm prior to going offline anyway. I have just turned off the 'Mailsafe' function in ZoneAlarm as it is the only thing I can see at the moment that might block messages with attachments. BTW - the message I received yesterday that indicated an attachment actually had NO attachment. I will leave 'Mailsafe' off for a day or so and see what happens. The other option will be for me to check my AVG anti-virus settings I suppose. Ian

Thanks Roy - they have not arrived as yet (5am Wednesday over here) but that does not mean they won't. If they have not been rejected then all should be well. Mark's arrived earlier yesterday before I went to work and there was no problem so it does look like ZoneAlarm's 'mailsafe' was the problem. Will let you know when the information arrives. Thanks again, Ian
