I have just run into an interesting problem regarding the CARDELL family.
As already mentioned I am under the belief that William s/o Christopher married Sarah Curnow PARMINTER.
But I just found the following:-
Catherine wife of William CARDELL buried 17th March 1798 at Phillack
Not sure where that leaves things at the moment.
This marriage is not recorded in IGI so I will have to do some searching through Phillimore.
Hmmm - and then William CARDELL is buried 20th May 1798 at Phillack
Wonder if this could be the parents of John and, therefore, grandparents of Christopher.
Will take a look and see what I can find.
Starting to get somewhere.
John CARDELL age 93 of Tringey buried 16th July 1820 at Phillack
Mary CARDELL age 85 of Redruth formerly Tringey buried 26th January 1823 at Phillack
Working from this I have searched IGI and found this as the only possibility:-
John CARDALL s/o William and Mary bp. 8th March 1728 at St Columb Minor
(I do not know if this date has already been 'adjusted' by the person submitting the information.
)
So, if the William buried in 1798 was John's father it would seem that he was married twice!
But I still have to determine exactly who 'William and Catherine' were and find a marriage for them before I can be anywhere near certain.
In any case:-
William CARDALL m. Mary SYER (?) 14th November 1713 at St Columb Minor (IGI)
Mary CARDELL (nee CLEMENTS) was 85 when she died in 1823 so, 'assuming' this is accurate, she was born sometime around 1738.
With only about four widespread options appearing in IGI I believe this (checked in the PRs) will be her:-
Mary CLEMENTS d/o Christopher and Elizabeth bp. 17th February 1738 at Phillack
Looks like it is now time to try and track down that marriage beween William and Catherine CARDELL.
