Hi everyone, I've just discovered this site. I'm on Con-GEN fairly frequently.
My surnames, Camborne only for the moment:
Angove Badge Basset 4 Beard Bennatts 53 Berryman Blewett Blight Boas 4 Bowden Bray 11 Bryant 9 Carpenter Carter 9 Crocker Davy 12 Donithorne 9 Dunstone 16 Eastlake 12 Esam Eva Glanville 5 Grose Hancock 19 Harris Heither Hockin 86 Ivy 4 Johns Magor 3 Pascoe Paynter Prideaux 44 Provis Quintrell 73 Robarte 3 Rogers 21 Rowe 32 Rule Tellam 22 Temby 4 Tillema Tresona Trevalier 7 Trezona 87 Trythall 19 Uren 6 Vivian 21 Whenan 16 Williams
These are copied from a file a year or more old, so there are probably more by now. The numbers are individuals of that name on my main database, which is roughly 50% direct ancestors. I actually know quite a bit more about Camborne than this implies.
Other parishes where I have more than 10 surnames are Bodmin, Calstock, Illogan, St Kew, Kilkhampton, Menheniot, St Neot and Veryan. On that file I had 9 surnames in Redruth, but that is probably also over 10 by now.
I have particular interest in Hocking and variants, Eastlake and variants, Quintrell and variants (but not the midlands Quantrills nor the raiders), Prout and variants (mostly in Devon).
A good many of the East Cornwall (not just East hundred) surnames extend into Devon as well.
I live in the Capertee Valley, NSW, Australia a fair way from most other people.
Best, Ken

G'day Ken and welcome to our little gathering. A brief glance through your surname list shows a number of names of interest to members of our Forum so I am sure you will find some help here. I also note that you may have something to offer also regarding areas like Camborne. Interaction and mutual help is what we try to foster here so I am sure you will fit right in. BTW - 'Capertree' - just where is it. I have travelled a fair bit (far from all) of NSW and cannot recall it. My abode is in Chiltern in North East Victoria - about half way between Wodonga and Wangaratta. Good luck and look forward to your postings. Ian

Hi Ken and welcome to the forum. If you let me know more specifics on your Angove interests I'll see where I can help you.
Best wishes Mike Angove

I could help out with the information I have on the Bray family. Most of mine are from Gwennap which is about six miles from Camborne. I'm also guessing you've got the Prideaux bit attached to Bray.
Keep smiling!

Jim - I know this is more than a week after your posting but I have now read your message. I would hope by now that you have had opportunity to navigate your way around this Forum. If not then I suggest you do take a look round and you will find some relevant sections to place your queries where all can see them and, from there, be able to offer assistance. 'Camborne Counting' would be one obvious choice given some of the names you have mentioned. If you have already discovered this then I will 'see you' there. Ian
