Greetings from Di Cummings of Australia.
Whilst researching I discovered the following, mainly through IGI:
JAMES OATEY (born February 2,1778) married Martha DONNITHORNE on February 13, 1803 in Phillack, Cornwall
Their children OATEY: James (born June 19,1803- ),
Elizabeth (born May 29,1805 -),
Joanna (born March 22,1807 -),
William Donnithorne and Edward Donnithorne (possibly a twin) were both christened on October 22, 1808),
Nicholas Donnithorne (born May 19,1811-died September 23, 1812),
Catherine (born December 12,1813-),
Mary (born February 25,1816 -)
and William Donnithorne (March 8,1818-1886)
My main line is via:
Elizabeth OATEY (1805) - born to James OATEY (1778) and Martha (nee Donnithorne) and baptised in 1805.
She had a son John OATEY to William Harvey (a publican).
She married Thomas Hedlock on Feb 26, 1826 at Phillack
Her son John OATEY married Susan OATEY and sailed from Plymouth on Sept. 19 1848 on the 'WILLIAM MONEY' with daughters Mary and an infant Elizabeth OATEY (born 1847) who died (of typhoid fever ?) on the voyage. They arrived in South Australia on Jan 3rd 1849 and lived in North Adelaide.
John was my grandfather's grandmother's father, and Martha was his grandmother. My webpages:

my question is: where is the link between "my" Martha Donnithorne and the following [no idea of author]:
Sept. 2, Fri.-I rode to St. Agnes. We found the great man, Mr. Donnithorne,[ Eldest son of Nicholas Donnithorne, Sheriff of Cornwall in 1731. See W.H.S, vol. iv. p. 190.] was dead. His mother and sister sent to invite me to their house.

but I don't know why Nicholas in not included on the following website. www.thepeerage.com/index_sheriff.htm
Comments most welcome.
