The wills of David Paynter (1623) and his younger son William Paynter (1634/5) taken together can take things slightly further.
I am using the transcriptions set out at webs.lanset.com/azazella/willscor2_pen.html
David’s will shows that his daughters Florance and Ann had each married a Randall and that both daughters had produced children.
His eldest son John had a daughter named Julian.
Three further daughters are mentioned with two, Elinor and Alice, being at that time unmarried. The fifth daughter is named as Joane
William’s will shows that the husbands of Ann and Florance were called
John Randall and Thomas Randall. Both sets of children are named as children of John or Thomas.
This surely indicates that both John and Thomas are still alive.
Where does John, son of Ann Jennings fit in, particularly as he also receives a bequest of 10 pounds.
The only possible gap would be for Ann Jennings to be a daughter of John Paynter and sister to Julian.
I am also interested in the Cornow connection, with William’s wife Margaret and her father Thomas Cornow (my 9x GGF) being named as executors of William’s will.
Margaret was the sister of Robert Cornow (my 8x GGF) who married Catherin Painter my (8x GGM).
If Catherine was the daughter of Peter, son of John, son of David – then she would be Margaret’s sister in law and niece by marriage – which makes this antecedence unlikely for me.

The other three daughters mentioned by David are also mentioned by William as sisters (Joane as Jane) and are still alive
– but no children are mentioned in connection with them
Julian – who we know is the daughter of John (son of David, and brother of William) is named as wife of Henry Odgers and is left 10 pounds.Where does John, son of Ann Jennings fit in, particularly as he also receives a bequest of 10 pounds.
