Greetings all,
firstly can i apologize to the Cornish Terrier - i think I may have messaged before i became a member. (After doing a google search for James Penrose DOB 14 Oct 1787 - St Just Cornwall it led me to a specific thread and i clicked on those who were talking about some Penrose history) - apologies no harm intended..i saw your message after I joined up and had access.
I currently reside in Melbourne Australia and bare the name of my ancestors - Tin Miners from St Just - I will be visiting Cornwall on 25 & 26 October 2023 to do some research and hopefully try and find and old family home/address.
I am sure I will get some valuable clues via this site
all the best James

Hello James and Welcome to Penwith Genealogy. Don't worry about the message as I don't think I received it anyway. But it is nice to have proof that people do actually read messages and instructions that help make things easier all round. If you haven't been to Cornwall before then I am sure you will wish you had allowed a lot more time. I spent around six months there in two trips back in the '90s and that was far from enough!! Unfortunately I doubt I will be able to visit again. Meantime there are plenty of members here willing to help with any queries you might have. CT
