Francis Lanyon was the second surviving son of Richard Lanyon esq and Jane Mooringe alias de la More. An Exchequer Deposition of 1635 describes him as being aged 16 therefore born about 1619.
He was buried at St Merryn 24 Mar 1689.
He married Honor before 1649. Honor Lonyon (sic) was buried 4 Sep 1655 Padstow.
From the will of John Warne written 24 May 1661 and proved Mar 1662 (AP/W/857 - transcript on OPC Cornwall) it is apparent that Honor was John's daughter. There is a baptism of an Honor Waren in Padstow 10 Sep 1620, the d/o John & Kathren.
John's will mentions (along with his other grandchildren) Katherine, John, Richard and Honner Lanyon the sons and daughters of Francis Lanyon and left them 20s each.
There is a baptism of a son on 26 Mar 1649 to Francis (gent) and Honor and a baptism for Richard Lanyon on 7 May 1655 (b 27 Apr). There is no record of Katherine or Honner's baptisms. I haven't found any further records for any of the children.
There is a Plea of Trespass and Enactment (1651) Source - Day Books of the Rashleigh Family :- Plaintiff John Warne and defendant: Katherine Trehill als Michell. Declaration that one Francis Lanyon, gent, the 15th day of April 1651 at the parish of Morvath in the County of Cornwall......
The Plaintiffs Tytle: That Richard Lanyon primo Jul 6 James (1609) in consideration of a marriage then before had betweene him and Jane his wife did convey the lands in question inter alia until Philip Risdon (Jane's mother) and John Allyn (Jane's stepfather) to the use of himselfe, the said Jane his wife and of their heirs of the bodie..... of the said Richard Lanyon for ever.
Richard and Jane had issue John their eldest sonne who died without issue and Francis, their second son who is living and who made the lease of enactment to the plaintiff....
The Defendant's Tytle: The said Richard Lanyon and Jane his wife for valuable consideration sold him land inter alia by conveyance 28 Mar 3 Car I (1628) unto James Jenkyn gent....'
This plea confirms that Francis' father Richard died (1636), his brother John died 14 Apr 1643, mother Jane was still alive in 1651.
Hope this is useful if you are researching the Lanyon family.
