List of people excommunicated by John ? Bishop of Exeter. (The names and occupations may be useful if you are researching those families.)
The record is at the National Archives ref: C 4/109/141 and is dated 1558-1603.
The only bishop of Exeter in that time period called John is John Wootton 1579-1594 so that narrows the time frame down a bit.
