I have just begun to attempt and compile my family tree. I have discovered that my Great grandmothers's family originated from the parish of Uny Lelant Cornwall. They were Bryants some of who were Tin miners, with one William being born in 1804, his wife was an Elizabeth Glasson born in 1808. My Grandmothers family moved to West Lothian in Scotland around 1860 to work in the Shale Mines there. If anyonev has any info on the family I would be grateful to hear. Cheers Charles

Welcome Charles. That would be the marriage dated 15th May 1831 at Lelant I should think. I had not been able to, so far, work out where William Bryant belonged. But I do have a William Bryant baptised at Lelant 8th April 1804 as son of Joseph Bryant and Margaret (nee Hosking). Elizabeth Glasson is related, distantly, to myself. Elizabeth Glasson bp. 7th August 1808 at Lelant d/o John Glasson and Elizabeth (nee TREWHEELLA). William Bryant was deceased prior to the 1881 Census but I have information suggesting that his widow, Elizabeth, was buried at Lelant 3rd December 1892. Suggest, if not already done, that you start posting on the Lelant section where we can deal with this query more appropriately. Once again - Welcome - and I hope we are able to help.
