Good morning. Like others I have been contacted by others who have mentioned this site so decided it was time i signed up . I have been looking for elusive relatives - mostly Cornish - for over 30 years (well before online databases) and I'm still looking. Information on Boase families is extensive though tying down which one is mine has proved more difficult. Other families I have connections to include Chellew (Ludgvan). Collick (Breage). Carter(Breage/Prussia Cove), Scott (St Germans & Penzance). I am always happy to connect with other people tearing their hair out searching for ancestors who insist on making out life difficult.

I have just fallen into this data base. I am looking for connections to the Carter family. I see from your post says you have connections to the Carter family. Unfortunately we haven't kept good records as a family but it seems the furtherest back I go is to William Henry Carter married to Betsy Faulker. Their son, Albert Edward, was born in 1901 so I'm guessing William Henry and Betsy would have been born somewhere in the 1860's to 1880's. They may, or may not, already have been living in South Africa. I'm not sure when my family moved here. One of the things I always remember was my dad talking about Cornwall and the places mentioned were St Ives and/or Looe but as he was born in SA it is quite certain he was talking from 'family stories' not from his own experience. I'd love to know if you have either of these two people (William Henry Carter and Betsy Faulker) in your family tree.
