Hello all - a short note to let you all know that I am finally back online. Still have lots to do to set up the new place so things may still be a little slow - but I will get there. I see we have now reached membership of 105 which is great news. Will try and check all messages after work tonight and answer each as quickly as possible. A BIG WELCOME to all those members who have joined since my sojourn and I look forward to sharing information and helping you all out as best I can. Time to start thinking about getting ready for work and will start catching up on things when I get home. Cornish Terrier

Welome back! It has been a bit quiet without you. Dont worry about the unpacking - we still have things in boxes after 13 years! We will all, I am sure, look forward to what gems you can uncover to add to our discussions West Penwith is blowin' today, biggest seas for some considerable time. A good day to light the fire and hibernate! or get the Xmas cards written.

Thanks londoner for the welcome back. What happened to your avatar?? I have not probably seen really big sees in my trips to Penwith but I do remember watching a 'beamer' sailing out of Newlyn Harbour one day. This vessel was still basically within the harbour and was being swamped.

Thankyou 'Girlfriends'. Not sure about the 'avatar' londoner but perhaps we should keep Luke 'in the circle' and get him to help. And thankyou also m'darlin Cornishmaid for the welcome back. The re-connection is not complete but is working. It has been said in other messages tonight but - thank you both again for your work whilst I have been absent. And you don't get let off just because I am back. Now you are involved and are helping to 'make things happen' which is what Zenobia started this Board for. So I really hope you can keep going (time and everything permitting, of course) and help make this even better. Over the next few months (Summer over here) you may well be required to do some more as I could be called away anywhere and at anytime should fires break out. And 'londoner' - much of this unpacking involves my computer gear and my family history information and my indexes and ...... - are you sure you want me to leave them in boxes. Plus - I would like to have my kitchen cleared so that I can get at the stove, the bedroom cleared so that I can make the bed properly and 'file' all my clothes, the loungeroom cleared so that I can set up my TV and Sterio system etc. Besides, all my books (about 2000) have been in boxes for seven years. Oooops! - and I have to work and deal with the 'yobbos' at the Pub. You girls could always come over to give a hand if you like. Time for me to do a final check for updates while the washing is drying and then it is off to bed before work tonight. Thanks again for the welcome back and let's see what we can do from here. Ian

Glad you are back - things were a bit slow here without you... now they will start happing again Londoner - for avatars that are not showing, right click on them and select 'view image' - that usually toggles them to start working. I just tried it with yours and I can see it now in all your posts.

the avatar still doesn't work for me - could it be something to do with the security settings on this computer?
