Hi, am trying to find out the meaning a "P" scribbled in the margin of the record on the opc. Day Month 18-Jan Year 1785 Parish Or Reg District Illogan Forename Jane Surname PRISK Age Residence Notes P Transcriber Notes Src: Bawden's Transcripts of PRs & BTs. P entered in the margin. Transcriber Karen Duvall Sorry if this is a silly question! Would be very grateful for a clue Thanks

Would be very grateful for a clue Thanks My best guess is that it may have indicated that she was a pauper, as stamp duties were supposed to be paid on parish record entries, except for paupers, between 1783 to 1794. I could be entirely wrong though!
