Happy Canadian Thanksgiving! I'm celebrating it--used to live in Canada.

Are the Canadians a month ahead of the Americans with Thanksgiving Or are the Americans about 13 months behind the Canadians. I thought the US Thanksgiving was in November so had to ask the question. Must admit that, without checking books, I don't really know - but I will stand by the above. Please tell us more of your sojourn in Canada as I still have relatives in BC. BTW - I have spent some time in the US (never made it into Canada unfortunately) and have travelled a lot of the Country and visited about 32 States. (Many relatives over there too.)

Yes, American Thanksgiving is in November, and is a bigger celebration with more food and more eating than the Canadian holiday. I think the American one set the precedent. But the Canadian one is great too. B.C. is where I lived for a number of years--Vancouver. It is very nice there. However it rains a lot!!! Wow, Cornish Terrier, 32 States is quite a few. I would say that is a lot of travelling.

My cousins live (or certainly did live) in Calgary and I was organised to visit them when I was in the US in 1994. Plans went awry and I did not make it to Washington, Oregon or Canada. It was perhaps furtunate in one way as Glyn was rushed to hospital soon before I was due to visit. Had I made it and he was well I was going to stay there fore a week or so and visit Lake Louise and the Canadian Rockies. Would also have got to see Vancouver but things did not work out. And I may be 'cheating' a little when I say I have been to 32 States of the US. It is fair to say that I have set foot in each of those States but at least one of those was merely to step off the plane at the airport and go across the border to the adjoining State. Most of the others I have spent some time in or driven through so I have actually seen a lot of the US. And I was there for three months on that first trip.
