John Glasson b 1637

My cousin's husband has asked me to research his family tree. I have gone this far back without any confidence. His Pools and Glassons seem interwoven and I can not seem to disentangle some of them. I keep finding people who I feel must be connected but cannot see how. This is the line I have followed.

Robert Glasson (1682 - 1739)

Mary Pool (1814 - 1891)

Francis Pool Treweeke (1840 - 1892)

son of Mary Pool

I have found siblings and spouses etc but need someone who can confirm or correct my findings. Is there a family tree for the Glassons and Pools anywhere I could compare mine with.

The more I look the more lost I become so would appreciate any advice. I am sorry if this has been gone through before but I did try to read most of the posts but was becoming more and more confused.

Hi Barbara - I don't have these families recorded back this far but from what I do have there are at least two errors that I can see in the first half of your post. Of course it would be so much easier had you included the mother's names in each generation rather than just the father. Anyway .....

The first error I can see is with the link from Robert Glasson (1724-1791) to William Glasson (1755-1814). As I understand it the father of William was another Robert Glasson for whom we have not found a baptism, with this Robert being a son of John Glasson and Dorothy Verrant who married at Camborne in 1710.

Therefore:-

John Glasson m. 1710 Crowan Dorothy Verrant

Robert Glasson (baptism not found) m. 1746 Gwennap Susannah Mitchell

William Glasson (1755-1814) m. 1781 Mary Williams

Eleanor Glasson (1784) m. 1806 Francis Pool

Mary (1814)

I have not done much work at all on this Pool family so cannot answer your query on that point but hopefuly one or two of our other Glasson researchers might be able to help you out.
