I believe him to be the son of John Glasson and Blanch nee Kemp - baptised Jan 1779 at Breage - married in 1802 at Breage.
Three children: Mary Carter Glasson (bap 1804 Perranzabuloe) and Susanna and Joseph Kemp. The will below mentions two of the children.. Mary and Joseph:

I have that Joseph 1779 as being married to Bathsheba Reed? If that is wrong, which Joseph married Reed? Di

It's been forever since I have been on this board (real life gets in the way) but came across this thread tonight and had to add a few words. Forgive me if you have already discussed this.
Joseph Glasson and Mary Carter ran the Ship Inn, Porthleven, once called The Blue Ships Inn. It is a big, white building on the harbour at Porthleven. My notes state that due to it's great position it was infamous for smuggling. A local history book describes tunnels under the inn which lead from the caves to the west of the harbour. Contraband was stored under the kitchen floor.
I have visited several times, and it is positioned at one end of the harbour, and just across the fields from Tremearne farm at Breage owned by Joseph's father John Glasson (wife Blanch Kemp) and then brother John Glasson and his wife Mary Glasson (cousins).
I also made a note that Joseph Glasson may have been pressganged in 1810 and never seen again. And that the Ship Inn was then run by his wife Mary, and later Joseph Kemp Glasson. However on Joseph Kemp's marriage certificate Joseph senior is not listed as deceased.
Apologies if I am hopelessly out of date, but thought this may help you.

Di - the use of the name Kemp in Joseph Kemp Glasson's name is a dead giveaway for his parents in my book. To the best of my knowledge the Joseph who married Bathsheba Reed was baptized at Gulval 28th May 1778 son of Joseph Glasson (1752 Gulval s/o Joseph and Katherine) and Mary Glasson (1757 Madron daughter of James Glasson and Mary Hosking). Lannanta will make any corrections if required. CT

Thanks Carol. everything helps to fill out the details of the family. CT, I am still not able to slot Joseph and Reed in to the family now is he is not the s/o Kemp. I do not have a Joseph and Katherine to be able to start this line.[found their marriage in 1745] Or a James Glasson and Mary Hosking either. (Can't find this marriage on OPC) only one found is to a Jane Hosking in 1755 Di

My apologies, seems I got myself a little mixed up there switching between the families - Jane Hosking is correct.
The parents of Joseph Glasson who married Bathsheba Reed (Joseph Glasson and his wife Mary Glasson) are both descended from John Glasson and Honor Perry who would have married sometime before about 1685. The family was mostly around Madron/Penzance and then Gulval before the younger Joseph made his way to Sithney and married Bathsheba in 1800.

I have gone back as far as John and Verant, as that is the start point for my family as they don't seem to be interested in going back any further. It would interest me, but as I am doing this for someone else, I follow their lead Camborne Church St. Martin and St. Meriadoc RegisterNumber DateOfBirth BaptismDate 01 Nov 1685 Forename John Sex M FatherForename John MotherForename FatherSurname GLASSON MotherSurname Abode Gwinnier
As I have this John married to Verant in 1710 He is my starting point. I have 7 children for them between 1711 and 1726. Di

Daughter of Joseph Glasson and Mary Carter
Wife of Richard Reed Glasson
Mother of Joseph Glasson and Richard Glasson
Sister of Joseph Kemp Glasson
is this correct?

Yes Susanna Glasson (1805-1843) was the daughter of Joseph Glasson and Mary Carter. Richard Reed Glasson (1802-1878) was the son of Joseph Glasson and Bathsheba Reed.
Richard married Susanna on the 12th May 1835 at Breage.
Richard and Susanna had two children:- Joseph (1836-1910 went to the USA) and Richard (1839-1843).
Following the death of Susanna Richard married a second time to Grace Treloar - 4th October 1844 at Wendron.

Carole
This is years old but I have a little to add that I came across in the Royal Cornwall Gazette newspaper.
Royal Cornwall Gazette - Saturday 02 June 1810
To Debtors and Creditors
The Creditors of Joseph Glasson, late of Porthleven, in the Parish of Breage, Innkeeper, are requested to send in their Accounts to Mr Richard Thomas of Helston, spirit merchant, who is authorised to receive the same, on or before the 21st instant, in order to their being investigated, previous to a division of the effects of the deceased, proportionable among his Creditors: and all Persons indebted to the Estate of the deceased, are desired to pay their Debts to the said Mr Thomas immediately, to prevent prosecution.
1st June, 1810.
