I am afraid you have one over me. Mary Dunstan Glasson married Thomas Gundry in 1869. Elizabeth Dunstan Glasson married Francis Hale Cock in 1837 in Phillack.

The 1842 marriage is for John Dunstan Glasson and Harriet Crothers. This John Dunstan Glasson was the son of Charles Glasson and Mary Dunstan.

By Hugh I assume you mean Hugh Dunstan Glasson? If so then first you need to know that John Dunstan Glasson married Eliza Woolley Adams in Birmingham in 1848. In the 1851 census they were found at Sincil Street in Lincoln. Hugh was there with them. However soon after Hugh must have gone to the USA.. see below:

Thanks, too many John Dunstan-Dunstone/Glassons. If his parents Charles Glasson and Mary Dunstan are not related directly to John 1685, and Verant, then I can forget that line. Also I got the marriages of the Elizabeth and Mary mixed up, thanks again.

Hello again
In fact Charles Glasson and Mary Dunstan are directly related to John Glasson and Dorothy Verrant:- Charles was the Son of John Glasson and Elizabeth Bottrall - married 1788 Crowan Grandson of Charles Glasson and Elizabeth Uren - married 1757 Camborne Great grandson of John and Dorothy Verrant - married 1710 Camborne.
It is Josiah Glasson and Elizabeth Dunstan who do not go back to John and Dorothy Verrant. They are descended from the Madron Glassons - John Glasson and Christian Uren.

Did John Dunstan Glasson and Harriet have any children apart from Charles Henry in 1843 and John 1844?. I can't find the family on freecen. So Harriet died pre his marriage to Eliza 1848?

They are two different John Dunstan Glassons.
The one who married Harriet was the son of Charles Glasson and Mary Dunstan. John Dunstan and Harriet had five children; Charles Henry 1842, John 1844, Benjamin 1846, Elizabeth A. 1849, and Jane in 1851.
The one who married Eliza Woolley Adams was the son of Josiah Glasson and Elizabeth Dunstan and is not related to the John Glasson Dorothy Verrant line. This couple had 14 children.

I wonder if this family thought their naming conventions would have relatives in the distant future scratching their heads in total confusion? Probably not. I have the Josiah/Dunstan and Charles/Dunstan pairings sorted in my database now thanks to you. I have found 3 children for Charles and Mary. Jane 1818, Charles 1820 and John 1821. Is this the right John and Harriet family in 1861? Piece: RG9/1571 Place: Helston -Cornwall Enumeration District: 20 Civil Parish: Sithney Ecclesiastical Parish: - Folio: 64 Page: 2 Schedule: 6 Address: Truthall Surname First name(s) Rel Status Sex Age Occupation Where Born Remarks GLASSON John Head M M 41 Farmer 130 Acres Empl 3m+2b Cornwall - Sithney GLASSON Harriet Dunstan Wife M F 36 Cornwall - Sithney GLASSON Mary Elizth Dau - F 6 Cornwall - Sithney GLASSON John Reed Son - M 4 Cornwall - Sithney GLASSON Harriette Ada Dau - F 2 Cornwall - Sithney GLASSON Ellen Dau - F 2m Cornwall - Sithney REED Joseph Boardr M M 76 Formerly Farmer Cornwall - Wendron REED Joseph Brolaw U M 19 Farmer Cornwall - Sithney BRAY William Servnt U M 21 Cornwall - Mawgan VINGO Henry Servnt U M 11 Cornwall - St Buryan PERRY Mary Servnt U F 26 Cornwall - Sithney KEMP Mercy Servnt U F 14 Dairymaid Cornwall - Sithney TREVITHICK Mary Servnt U F 52 Char Woman Cornwall - Sithney Doesnt look like it if the Joseph Reed 19 is his brother in law. That would make Harriet nee Reed not nee Crothers , and where did the Harriet Dunstan Glasson come from? and no sons Charles Henry or John. Same family in 1881 has no sign of the boys and 4 daughters. Where did they all go? and I think I need a stiff drink.

You are now looking at the family of John Glasson and Harriet Dunstan Reed, married in Helston in 1853.
This is another family that belongs to the Madron Glassons and is not related to your Glasson/Verrant line.

So there were at least 3 glasson/dunstan marriages? mabye more? not surprising, there were at least 3 glasson/andrewartha marriages.
And what happened to John and Harriet nee Crothers? and the 3 chldren that I can find. I can't find them in any of the freecen. Or on the OPC database for census. Di
