Hello CT et al
I just need a little lateral thinking and some possible alternative Australian record access perhaps. I know from a death certificate that Annie Rebecca Glasson died aged 87 years in 1939 in or near Bathurst. Now Annie Rebecca, known and recorded as Fanny Rebecca Glasson, is found at 250 Keppel Street in the Electoral Rolls from 1930 to 1937. Living at the same address is Pollie Glasson and she stays on at 250 Keppel Street until after the 1949 Roll. She either moves away, marries or dies - none of which can I discover is true or not.
So Annie Rebecca was unmarried, and therefore born about 1852 - give or take some years for memory fade, and Pollie was recorded as her niece.. which could have meant grand niece I am guessing.
At the moment I can only guess that Annie is an unrecorded daughter of John Glasson and Ann Bennett. But if I could find out who Pollie was I might then be able to more positively identify her Aunt Fanny.
Any thoughts

Do you know of a book called 'The Glasson Saga'? archiver.rootsweb.ancestry.com/th/read/NSW-ORANGEBATHURST/1999-09/0936956710(I presume the 'Holong, NSW' mentioned in the query is 'Howlong' which is not a great distance from where I live.) Once I finally got access to the NSW Registry Index I searched for Pollie/Polly/Mary and came up with only one possibility that seems likely:- Mary R Glasson daughter of John and Mary A R Glasson born 1894 Blayney (near Carcoar and Bathurst) There are a couple of Mary Glassons born at Carcoar in 1873 and 1886 and another at Broken Hill in 1896 but from what you have written I would think they are far less likely to be who you are looking for. I have tried SA and Vic records for possible births for Pollie without success but can't think of anything else at the moment that might be helpful. Findagrave has 53 Australian Glasson records but unfortunately those you are looking for are not there. CT

Yes I do and I have a photocopy of it but I do not think it is any use here.
But I think I have found Aunt Fanny simply by spelling Pollie - Polly.
Frank is actually John Francis GLASSON born in 1853 in South Australia to Josiah GLASSON and Ann Elizabeth FOLK. Ann Elizabeth was the daughter of Henry FOLK and Rebecca.
Frank also had a brother Henry Folk GLASSON who married twice. First in 1875 to Mary Isabella Renshaw KERR who died the following year after the birth of a daughter Fanny Rose Mary GLASSON. He then married again in 1877 to Rose Mary STEPHENS and had about 9 children. But I think Fanny Rose Mary GLASSON is Polly.
I believe that Fanny Rose Mary GLASSON died in 1966 unmarried.
Perhaps Molong?

Ah - very good! That makes perfect sense. Holong/Molong - yes, I agree. I had forgotten about Molong whilst 'Howlong' jumped to mind because it is only about 12-15 miles from here. Google tells me that Molong is in the Central West and situated on the Orange Rd so it is very much in the vicinity of Carcoar, Bathurst, Blayney etc. CT
