CT et al
In Australia - 1860 and 1862 there are some births and deaths that I do not seem to be able to find a record for... perhaps...
They concern a father called Josiah Glasson who apparently lived at the Post Office in Kelso. In 1862 his wife had stillborn twins. In 1860 the death of 12month old Frederick Pool Glasson was recorded.
My best guess is Josiah, son of Richard and Phillipa and husband of Elizabeth Ann Folk. Josiah's brother John named his daughter Mary Pool Glasson.

Lannanta - it does make it easier when we know which State to look at. Three places named Kelso as mentioned and also at least three places named Richmond are just a start! The NSW Indexes are a bit of a pain because there appears to be no provision for the use of wildcards when searching so I will have to play around a bit to get as much information as possible. Births1859 Bathurst District Elizabeth GLASSON Father - Josiah Mother - Ann E Registration Number - 4800/1859 Deaths1860 Bathurst District Frederick GLASSON Father - Josiah Mother - Elizabeth Registration Number - 2985/1860 1862 Bathurst District Josiah GLASSON Father - Richard Mother - Phillipa Registration Number - 2665/18621869 Bathurst District Annie E GLASSON Father - unknown FOLK Mother - unknown Died Bathurst Registration Number - 2889/1869 1895 Orange District Henry F GLASSON Father - Josiah Mother - Anne Registration Number - 9605/1895 1912 Bathurst District Francis J GLASSON Father - Josiah Mother - Annie Registration Number - 635/1912 There are three GLASSEN deaths but none for this family and of three other variations I found nothing. But that should be of some help I think and should keep you going for a little while. Meanwhile I will do some quick checks in a couple of other States. CT

Thanks for your work, however I have nearly all of that information.
Of interest was the death for Frederick... which helps the newspaper notice concerning Frederick Pool Glasson.
In addition from the newspaper was a death for a stillborn baby in 1859 and stillborn twins in 1862. So my question would be.. were stillborn children registered in NSW in the 1860s? Could being stillborn be the reason why they are not registered?

Lannanta - I would expect that they 'should' have been registered for both birth and death. Unfortunately, as mentioned, the NSW Index does not seem to have any provision for wildcard searches so finding records if the surname was incorrectly spelt would be rather awkward.
