CT et al
This post concerns a John Glasson, baptised 31st May, 1857 at St Erth, son of John Glasson and Frances Ann, nee Pellow.
The following marriage appears in 1882 in your fair country CT;
I believe the 1857 baptism and the groom are one and the same.
John and Emma Louisa Glasson had only one child:
John George Stuart Glasson, born in 1884 in Adelaide, or thereabouts.
The following appears in 1901
In the various newspaper reports concerning this death in 1901, (he died while cycling home from work where he had just been put off) this young man is called Stuart, and on one other occasion Berty.
But it is the father being referred to as John S. Glasson that is interesting me. It is not an isolated case as Emma Louisa's death shows:
Given that the son of John and Emma Louisa Glasson had Stuart as part of his name, it may be fair to assume that John S. is actually John Stuart Glasson.
Now, there is really only one other occurrence of the christian name Stuart that comes to mind.
Phillipa Glasson was born in 1868 at Lelant, daughter of John Glasson and Frances Ann nee Pellow... a sister to the 1857 John. In 1892 she had an illegitimate son... John Stewart Glasson, who lived his life at Lelant.
I was hoping CT that you may have a shipping entry for John about 1880, or perhaps a death in Lyndoch for John S. Glasson. If not I would be interested in a critique of the above from anybody who has a connection or just an interest.
