A small query which relates to the marriage of Jane Glasson and John Pengilly on the 7th June at Kenwyn/Truro. At this stage I do not know exactly who Jane is.
However, today I read an newspaper article concerning a court appearance of one John Glasson, of Truro, a smith. The date of the paper is the 27th November 1835 and the paper was the Royal Cornwall Gazette.
The John Glasson mentioned will be, I believe, the husband of Wilmot Quick, and he was born about 1788, the son of Robert Glasson and Joan Burt, and was found in the early census working as a smith in Kenwyn.
The court proceedings say the following:
There is no Gill / Glasson marriage that I can find. But in 1829 in Kenwyn there is a Jane Pengilly / Richard Gill marriage - widow and widower. I note that this marrisge occurs not long after a death for a John Pengilly in Kenwyn.
I am suggesting that John Glasson's sister Jane, baptised at Kenwyn on the 25th December 1785, is the Jane Pengilly who married Richard Gill in 1829.
Would you agree with that???

Yes, I think I can agree with that and there is some reading matter en route. CT
