The thread deals with a certain John Glasson (sojourner) who married Ann Michell at Camborne on the 4th July 1789. I have this John recorded as being baptised in Gwinear in 1765. John and Ann had eight children including, John, Robert and Grace.
Of the children, John married Alice Isabel at Gwithian in 1820. Robert married Elizabeth Richards at Gwithian in 1828, and Grace married Oliver Thomas at Gwithian in 1832.
In the 1841 census John and Alice were at St Erth while Robert and Elizabeth and Grace and Oliver were at Gwithian.
In 1811 a John Glasson, sojourner, married Elizabeth Richards, sojourner, at Gwithian. The question is - are these two John Glassons - the husbands of Ann Michell and Elizabeth Richards - one of the same person.
If that was the case we would need a death for an Ann Glasson after the birth of their last child, 1806 and before 1811. One does exist and the burial occurred on the 1st February 1810 at Camborne - for the w. of John. I originally thought the w. would stand to be widow of John but on reflection it could as well be wife of John.
Also in the 1841 census at Churchtown of Gwithian is a 70 year old female servant - Elizabeth Glasson. This Elizabeth was buried at Gwithian on 17th November 1846 and she was aged 82 years. My question to myself was is this the wife of John and therefore the Elizabeth Richards of the 1811 marriage?
Her 1846 death certificate partly answers the question stating that she was in fact the widow of John Glasson, farmer. But more interesting is that it states that the informant was none other than Oliver Thomas of Churchtown, Gwithian and the only Oliver Thomas in Gwithian in the 1841 census was the husband of Grace.
CT, my question is now.... have I put that together correctly - can you see any possible errors there.... and is John the death in Gwithian in 1836, servant of Mr Hocken.... or did he die earlier...
