CT A rather uncommon christian name for this family, but it was used in 1843 by Thomas Glasson and Jane nee Michell, who were living at Poltair in Madron with a number of children. In fact this Matthew Glasson was born on the 16th Septmeber 1843. The thing is I cannot find a death before the 1851 census, or him in the 1851 census..... I guess it could be a case of failing to register the death? Lannanta

Lannanta - you do have these little dilemmas! Matthew GLASSO_ died September Qtr 1843 Penzance R.D. Vol 9 Page 132 I should thank that will be him although I have not found a burial as yet. I also don't quite know what the transcribers problem was! The characters are pixelating a little but the image shows typed information that is easily interpreted as GLASSON. CT

CT
Well burn me toast and butter it on both sides - I looked for ages and the only way I can see it now is to search for Matthew with no surname - GLASSO_ does not come up on my phonetic search...
Many thanks in any event
Lannanta
PS I have another couple of teasers for you yet.....

You could also try a wildcard search - GLA*, GLAS* or GLASS* - which would find it so long as you don't use too large a search period. FreeBMD cracks a wobbly if you give it too much to do!
