CT I was wondering if there was some way to compare the signatures of the two Edwards who married Rebacca Harvey at Gwinear on 10th September 1780 and Elizabeth Trevena at Gwinear on the 10th June 1804. A couple of notes: first I am suspecting that it is the same Edward, and second that Trevena could actually be Trevorrow... or Elizabeth a widow at the 1804 marriage.... or both. However I would need a burial for Rebecca prior to 1804 methinks. And I guess the burial for the 44 year old Rebecca Glasson at Gwinear on the 20th Feb 1803 would be perfect. Lannanta

And the more I look the more I find.
The OPC site has additional information to that which I had and it does say that Edward was a widower and Elizabeth was a widow.
In both marriages the groom signed so it would be interesting to be able to compare signatures.
Which means that the Elizabeth who died aged 88 years at Cornhill in 1839 is this Elizabeth.

Hello Zibetha
I decided that Edward Glasson married Rebecca Harvey on the 10th September 1780 and they had 7 children from that time until 1795 - two Anns, Mary, Edward, Rebecca, Elizabeth & Dorothy.
Rebecca Glasson was buried at Gwinear on the 20th February 1803 - aged 44 years.
The widower Edward Glasson then married the widow Elizabeth Trevena on the 10th June 1804 at Gwinear. I am personally not to interested in who Elizabeth Trevena is so I have not pursued that any further.

For the record I think at the moment that the widowed Elizabeth Trevena may have been Betty Penberthy.
William Trevena Junr married Betty Penberthy 3rd January 1778 at Redruth
FamilySearch shows a number of children baptised at Redruth to William and Betty/Elizabeth Trevena up until 1802 but none elsewhere. Unfortunately the marriage record is from a Transcript so signiatures/marks of Bride and Groom are not able to be checked.
Of the other possible marriages I could find I was able to eliminate all because the bride either signed or her mark was very noticeably different to the Elizabeth Trevena who married Edward Glasson.
