Having trouble adding my own avatar in my profile. tried several times but either end up with no avatar at all or back with my old one which is selected from the available list. Even though i've entered the URL for my new avatar, it still won't appear. Any suggestions?? Ted

Weeeellll! I had my Avatar chosen and installed for me so have never had to look into this problem. From what I can see it should be straightforward with only two potential problems that seem possible. 1. size is restricted to 100x100 pixels so make sure you are no more than that 2. Is the URL legitimate and correctly entered? There are others here who have added their own Avatar so perhaps one of them might have some clues. CT

I have found the same problem. I can enter my URL information, but there doesn't seem to be a way to add it or save it. The only option I find is to modify my profile which takes me back to square one rather than updating what I have entered.

Finally got it by trying a different image hosting service than I usually use. Still a jpeg image, so I don't know what the problem was.
The rest of the process was what I tried in the first place with the last "Modify" entry finally serving to save my input.
Whew.

Well done Zibetha! Perhaps you could compose a 'how to' message to post here for those who might have a similar problem in future? CT

It's a pretty easy process on this end:
Log in and select "Profile"the bar at the top part of the page Select "Modify Profile" Under Personal Information, Avatar should be set to "none" Fill in the Avatar URL (I copied and pasted the link to mine from the site where I stored my photo) Fill in Avatar width and height (mine is 100 x 75) Complete Personal Text if you want a caption under your Avatar Select "Modify Profile" at the bottom of the page to save your changes
Your image should upload pretty quickly.
My issue was something in my photograph's URL code from the image-storing site I usually use. I tried another free site suggested by other Proboards users that I found online, uploaded it there, and all went well. Not sure I should post the site here-- so, if anyone wants to know, they can send me a message.
Cheers -- and good luck!
