Good evening CT All out for 47 - for a moment there I thought the Ozzeys were going to eclipse the kiwi record of 26 ;D On the OPC database site there is an entry in the non conformist baptisms for Joseph Seymour Glasson, son of Charles and Esther. He was born on the 8th March 1901 and baptised at St Buryan on the 17th May. Well, I do not think there is a marriage for Charles and Esther. I also do not think that there is a birth for Joseph Seymour Glasson. But in the June quarter of 1901 there is a birth for Joseph Seymour Hutchings in the Penzance district. Surely? Lannanta

Crikey for a moment there I thought you meant the AUSSIES but they were 8/200+ last night as far as I know with Clarke over 100. And as far as I know the willow hasn't touched a South African hand as yet. But down to the old tin tacks! ;D I don't have these particular records but I do have information for St Buryan Chapels just prior to the event you are concerned about. I believe that the parents are Charles and Hester Glasson Hutchings of Lamorna who baptised son Horace in the St Buryan Chapel 9th April 1897. My guess would be that the parents are Charles HUTCHINGS and Hester Glasson HOSKING who married in the December Qtr of 1893 Penzance R.D. CT

CT I know it's not your sport but you should keep up to date! the score you quote was the FIRST Innings. at 21 for 9 we were quite excited too - obviously a "crucial " last wicket stand to get them past that Kiwi score!

Well, as far as I know the South Africans have not batted yet ............. at least there has been nothing on the news that I have seen.
To my knowledge the first innings was still going.
And Cricket IS one of the sprots I enjoy but unless you PAY for the privilege this seems to be one of those series that is unavailable to the general populace.
PAY - they can shove that where the Sun don't shine!!!

HI CT
Yes the cricket happened that quick it seemed as if there was a day missing - but 47 or so does not usually take long.. ;D
Anyway... Yes I agree with you and I have chased this family back to Jane Glasson, daughter of John Glasson and Constance nee Edmonds of Paul.

But I am yet to be given any indication that South Africa has faced a ball!

Oh boy!(s)
I've heard of cricket (not just Jiminy) but what on earth is a wicket?? And how many are possible?
Don't know why, but this has me ROFL. And, by the way, The Green Bay (Wisconsin) Packers face off the Minnesota Vikings on Monday night football next week, which is the truly important game this Fall. Relevance here is that an American football is really just two pasties joined at the equator.
Not meaning to go off topic; you guys went there first.
Cheers,
Zibetha

Your press are obviously too embarrassed to report the full score:
1st innings Australia all out 284, South Africa All out 97 at which time your guys must have been hopeful but then:
2nd Innings Australia all out 47 South Africa 236 for 2

It being only a game I am really struggling to find my care factor at the moment! I acknowledged that I had not been aware of any scores after I had seen on the News that Australia had been 8 for a little over 200 and I really don't see why there was reason to pursue the matter. I enjoy Cricket but I have to say that there is a big chance that I won't be seeing much this Summer. Apart from the fact that there are more important things to do and think about I JUST CAN'T STAND ALL THE DAMNED ADS that come with trying to watch anything on TV now!! If anyone does wish to continue this then please do so in a more appropriate forum! CT
