Good morning CT
Long time..... I have a wee query that I wonder if you would have a look at to see if you have an alternative.
It involves a marriage between James Hosking and Elizabeth Glasson at the parish church in Redruth - it occurred on the 15th July 1851 - just a wee bit after the census.
Both were aged 20 years from Redruth, Elizabeth (North Row) & James (Bullers Row) were the children of miners named John. In my records if I go looking for an 1831 Elizabeth I only find one at St Erth up until she was buried there in 1850.
Looking at Elizabeths in 1851 census, with a father John, the only record that I have is a 16 year old living at Miners Row in Redruth.
That makes her the Elizabeth baptised in Redruth in 1835, the daughter of John Penhalle Glasson and Honor Bishop.
Would you agree that the 16 year old Elizabeth mentioned above gave her age as 20 years to be married in 1851 - or can you find another one??

G'day Mate - it has been a while indeed and I was only thinking of you over the last couple of days and hoping things had not turned sour again in your neck of the woods! Now then - James and Elizabeth very conveniently seem to disappear from England soon after they married so it is almost as if they knew we would come looking for them! But after checking my database, 1841-1861 Census and FamilySearch I can see no alternative but to agree that Elizabeth must have been the daughter of John and Honor. I can try and track down some children for James and Elizabeth as I now have Redruth Baptisms covered from 1837 thanks to FamilySearch. It is no small job with the amount of baptisms occurring and it depends on any children being baptised in the Established Church. But I will take a look for at least a couple of years after the marriage and see if anything useful turns up. CT

I have checked through 1853 and not found any children to James and Elizabeth Hosking at Redruth so unfortunately not much help. CT

Morning CT I am not surprised that they did a runner so to speak - best guess would be Oz as they would have followed about three other members of the family. But at the moment I will just continue to complete the list of marriages and worry about where they are later. Many thanks, Lannanta

There don't appear to be any children for James and Elizabeth registered in Victoria, South Australia or New South Wales.
