;D Much rejoicing was heard in the household! She who must be obeyed (the wife, that is!) has decided that she agrees with me and doesn't wish to be carried out of the Cotswolds "feet-first". The result of this, and with her not having any preferences (unlike myself) is that we're now "house-hunting" in Cornwall at every available opportunity. It may take a while to find the perfect home, but the upshot is:- "I'm goin' ome!!!" on the down-side- I've been trawling the Estate Agents' internet sites and I've become aware that the house that I grew up in has come on the market, and I can't possibly afford to buy it That really pulls on the heart-strings, but c'est-la-vie!! Just thought I'd share that with you all!! ;D Ted ;D

Ted,
I can "hear'" the happiness in your post! I think you should buy and run a Bed & Breakfast so that we Penwith-boarders from parts afar know where to stay when our dream of a visit/research trip comes true.
Should I arrive, I would take a turn in the kitchen and make "petite pasties" for all your guests.
Good luck with your house-hunting,
Zibetha

The best of luck, Ted, with your house-hunting from another Cornish exile who also hopes to go home in the not too distant future!
Regards,
Mary

Goodonya Ted - As I recall there is no house next to the Blue Anchor so if you are still looking at buying around Helston and intend to sample the wares of said Blue Anchor then I advise you look at alternative means of post-sampling transport! Fair chance if you sample more than one you will be having difficulty with your vision and the perambulation tools (legs) will be less than totally supportive! ;D Hope you find something suitable .......... and affordable! Her indoors has had an epiphany and decided that if we're moving all that way then it's got to be next to the sea (there was much rejoicing!!) So Perranporth re-enters the search criteria. ............... NOW THAT'S REALLY GOIN' 'OME!! ;D Thank's for the good luck messages, all of you

"Noggin" I understand-- but what on earth is an eight-pound mallet? I am sure I never lifted anything so heavy playing croquet in my youth, and I believe I bash away at things at home with a one and a half pound (i.e. girly) hammer.
Happy Thanksgiving to all, and Ted, good news about the seaside! (Even better for the B&B)
