Ted - I now have something a little more sensible to offer.
The 1861 Census shows John Carpenter and wife Keturah living at Illogan Highway along with John's mother Susan who was then age 72.
John was age 49 and Keturah 39 with her birthplace recorded as Crowan.
It is more than a little obvious that this must be a second marriage for John.
In 1851 John was absent from home and his daughter Ann appears to have been in charge of the household.
At this time Keturah (indexed as Returah) Pooley was at home with her parents Thomas and JANE at Highway, Illogan.
The Crowan Parish Register shows that Keturah daughter of Thomas and Jane Pooley was baptised at Crowan 28th June 1823.
Also in the household of Thomas and Jane Pooley in 1851 were son Thomas age 33, daughter Jane age 29, son John age 22 and daughter Emma age 16.
Thomas was age 64 and born at Crowan while Jane was age 63 and born at Camborne.
Birthplaces of the children ranged from Wendron through Crowan to St Austell.
With son Thomas age 33 we should be looking for a marriage before 1818.
To try and narrow it down a little further I have also checked the 1841 Census.
Thomas and his son Thomas were absent from home but it appears there were older children.
Included with Jane in 1841 are what appear to be sons JAMES 25, William 20 and JAMES 20.
Perhaps one is a nephew but being 1841 it is not stated.
After all of that I think the marriage you are looking for is this one:-
Thomas POOLEY, miner and sojourner married Jenefer BENNETTS at Camborne 20th July 1812
Witnesses:- Mary Richards, John Gribbell
That should help a little I think.
