Hi There
The Gudge family. I would like some help to find the baptism of Elizabeth Gudge, who was born c. 1826, St Ives. I would also like to find her parents marriage, if possible.
This is what I have been able to find on Elizabeth: Ebenezer Jenkins married Elizabeth Gudge, Dec Qtr 1843, Penzance RD. The 1851 Census records Elizabeth, 25, an engineers wife, with sons Edwin 6, Thomas and Ebenezer, as visitors to Giles and Honor Gudge, in Penpol, Phillack.
1861 Census residence Hayle Foundry, Phillack: mother Elizabeth, 35, wife of an Engine smith, born St Ives, with children Edwin, 16, Seaman Merchant Service, born Phillack, brothers Thomas 14, and Ebenezer 12, and they are living with grandparents Giles Gudge 66, born Longbreudy, Dorset, retired Ships Master Merchant Service, and his wife Honor Giles 67, born St Ives.
Any help with further research on this family would be much appreciated.
Kind regards, Rowena

Ooooops, apologies, one of my infamous spelling errors.
1861 Census: Elizabeths' mother is recorded as Honor Gudge, age 67, born St Ives.
Cheers, Rowena

Elizabeth daughter of Thomas and Honor GOUGE of St Ives baptised 19th December 1825 St Ives Wesleyan Methodist Circuit (born 8th July) mother's parents Thomas and Honor DEWENS This is on the OPC site as is sister Grace who was also recorded as GOUGE. Mary is actually recorded three times - Penzance Wesleyan Circuit Register, Madron Circuit Wesleyan Methodist and St Ives and District Wesleyan Methodist Chapels Register. I have found baptisms for 10 children and burials for 5 of them under Gudge, Gouge and George. But in the 1841 Census there is also a son Josiah age 7 for whom I cannot find any record just yet. (1851 Census has his birthplace as St Erth) Giles Gudge was baptised 6th July 1794 at West Compton Abbas, Dorset Parents - Giles Gudge and Hannah Thorner who married 20th May 1793 at Toller Fratrum, Dorset These last details from IGI.
