One of the most useful free sites for Cornish researchers is the Cornwall OPC site at www.cornwall-opc-database.org/ with its many databases. It used to have a Person Search facility where you could search for a single name across the baptisms, burials and marriages databases. Recently that option seems to have disappeared from the Search window. Am I overlooking something?

Roger - I had not noticed that it was no longer there. However I have just emailed Bill to query it and will let you know as soon as I get an answer about what is happening. CT

Roger, I have had a reply from Bill O'Reilly from the OPC regarding the Person Search issue.

We have an issue with this search as it is currently consuming vast server resources and the owner of the server has asked me to remove it. We'll try to find out what the problem is but it may be some time before it can be restored.

CT, thank you for confirming that 'Person Search' was absent for a while, and the reason for it. I had noticed that it has now reappeared, as genie says. I thought I was experiencing a 'senior moment' and that it had been there all along! Anyway, it's good to have it available again.

Everybody on here probably knows this already, but I have just found the Ctrl + F shortcut on the keyboard, which means I can search census records much more easily because the search word/s are highlighted. (It works on Macs too, I think). as you can see, I'm quite new to the surname search, and must admit I am hooked.
