I believe that we discussed this couple a few days ago, by email I think. Although I have not discovered who this Robert is, I have started to put the family together in my family history programme as a family as yet not connected to the rest of the Glasson families.
As it happens I came across a marriage today between a Robert Glasson and Elizabeth Bell Barlow who were married at Truro in 1847. Robert was a tailor and was also the son of William Glasson, a miller. He was also aged 34 years suggesting he was born about 1812/13 and although he was living at Phillack at the time of the marriage there is nothing to suggest that he was born there.
In my list of baptisms, as yet unaccounted for, I have a Robert Glasson baptised at Kenwyn on the 4th of October 1812 to William and Jane with an apparent sister baptised earlier in 1808 at the same place. I am suggesting that this is the Robert who was married in 1847 at Truro.
But then I thought who is William the miller. As I only have indexes to go by I am first suggesting that whoever he was, he did marry Jenefer Solomon at Kenwyn on the 23rd July 1808.
Heading back to my database of baptisms I have two options for William, first, son of Robert and Joan Burt, baptised in 1791 but I already have him buried as an 8 year old, and anyway almost a bit young for the 1808 marriage if in fact he was baptised as a baby. So the second option is William, the son of Robert and Elizabeth Arthur, baptised 27th August 1780 at Kenwyn.
Sort of fits, William son of Robert and Elizabeth with three children Robert, Mary and Elizabeth.
Do you have access to the Kenwyn records that could confirm or deny the above assumptions?
I did note that Robert's wife was named Elizabeth Bell Barlow, daughter of Thomas Barlow and was said to be a single woman - why not a spinster?
