I'm researching my wife's family lines, which are Gall and Woolcock. In particular, I'm looking for any info on a Spanish connection. My wife's grandmother, Mary Woolcock, was married to Thomas John Gall. They lived in Hayle. She used to say that her grandmother was a Spanish lady who was brought to Cornwall by her grandfather, who was a fisherman. I reckon that was Peter Woolcock, who, in the marriage record of his son (Peter, jr), is noted as 'fisherman'. Does anyone have any info on this? Thanks!

Many of the Woolcock men of the area were fisherman so I would not pin it to Peter just yet. It looks like Thomas John Gall was born either 1879 or 1894 in the Redruth Registration District so it is unlikely I would have ready access to details of the marriage to Mary Woolcock. So I would appreciate it if you could supply whatever details you know about her so that I might be able to trace her back. If you have her birth details with Parents names that would be an excellent start. Once I get something to work with I should be able to find an answer for you. CT
